CREDIT GUARANTEE FUND TRUST FOR MICRO AND SMALL ENTERPRSIES (CGTMSE) is a boon to the enterrises who falls under the category of Micro and Small enterprise .It is a scheme introduced by the Government of India to provide credit guarantee to small and micro enterprises (SMEs) for loans up to a certain limit.
The purpose of CGTMSE is to facilitate access to credit for these enterprises by mitigating the risk faced by lenders in extending loans to them.
Enterprise which have turnover not exceeding Rs.5 Crore and investment not exceeding Rs.1 Crore fall under the ambit of Micro and small enterprises .
CGTMSE aims in providing collateral free credit to the enterprises upto a limit of Rs.500 Lacs . Previoulsy the same was Rs. 200 Lacs .It enables the enterpreneurs to have access to capital when the business in growing phase .
